Christies Beach Mitre 10 local community involvement.
Mitre 10 Christies Beach prides itself in being very much involved in and supporting our local community. John (being an old Apexian) has always found community service at the very forefront of his life and what he enjoys.
2014 City of Onkaparinga’s Christmas Pageant
We again participated in the City of Onkaparinga’s Christmas pageant held on 24 November. John’s creativity came to the fore, excelling last year’s Santa’s sleigh with an amazing transformation of his trusty ute into a chalet. John with the help of his staff constructed the chalet using scrap timber as the framework secured by countless tek screws and covered by insulation foil stapled and glued on. A splash of paint and Christmas decorations and the chalet was complete. Have a look at the photos below: click an image to start slideshow.
Pink Day – Jane McGrath Foundation
Kathy supported Beach Road Pink Week in October to raise funds for the Jane McGrath Foundation. The store was decorated in big pink bows, balloons and streamers for the week with staff wearing pink fluoro vests.
Customers were invited to an after-hours tea party that included information sessions with representatives from gardening, painting and home maintenance products suppliers. About 40 customers enjoyed a bbq and refreshments provided by John and Kathy. $150 was raised from the event for the Jane McGrath Foundation.
